1. Oh endure with patience the great misfortune,
And cure your wounds with beautiful patience.

2. Do not despair even if you become destitute one day,
For days of comfort will come in due course.

3. Do not lose hope for losing hope is blasphemy,
Perhaps Allah will enrich you from something small.

4. Do not think your Lord will do anything but good,
For Allah knows best what is beautiful.

5. Hardship is always followed by ease,
And the word of Allah is the truest of all words.

6. If sustenance came through intelligence,
It would be found with the intelligent.

7. And how many faithful starved one day,
Only to be satisfied with pure honeyed drink.
