1. I complain to Allah, not to people
I see the land remains while friends go away
١. إِلى اللَهِ أَشكو لا إِلى الناسِ أَشتَكي
أَرى الأَرضَ تَبقى وَالأَخِلّاء تَذهَبُ
2. If other than death had taken you, my friends
I would complain, but one does not blame death
٢. أَخِلّايَ لَو غَيرَ الحِمامِ أَصابَكُم
عَتِبتُ وَلَكِن ما عَلى المَوتِ مُعتَبُ
