1. Dearer to me than reproach of time
Is listening to the lute and melody so fine
١. أَحَبَّ إِليَّ مِن عَتبِ الزَمانِ
سَماعُ العودِ وَالنَغَمِ الحِسانِ
2. And gardens with their grapes and tilled terrain
Sweet basil I hold dearer than all joys profane
٢. وَجَنّاتٌ مِن أَعنابٍ وَزَرعٍ
وَرَيحانٌ أَحَبُ إِلىَ الجَنان
