Dawn breaks for the forsaken lover

2. Reminding me of days of intimacy and delight
When I reveled with gazelles and nymphs

3. The swaying branches seem intoxicated
As if from goblets of wine passed around

4. Singing to the tune of Muwashshah and Mu'abbad
And Mukhariq in the melody of Makhour

5. Bringing the dead heart back to life
Like Sannusi revived verse after its decline

6. Raising the banners of glory aloft
For beholders, with the blowing of trumpets

7. And soaring, to eternalize feats and graces
Of forebears, with eulogies and presence

8. The cities were adorned with its rarities
And masterpieces, by the renowned founder

9. Bedecking the gardens with flowers and beauty
Evident to every learned man and seer

10. Muhammad and the son whose knowledge
In the region is peerless and abundant

11. You honored me with a unique pearl
Created in the year of the truthful victorious ruler

12. I swayed with joy as if I were
Juice of pressed grapes swishing

13. As if the verses I recite
Are by Farazdaq or Jareer's composition

14. So I composed what a lover hopes with his words
To make up for incapacity and falling short

15. Praying you have eternal bliss
And support, grace and joy
