The truthful Pasha, the wise advisor,

2. With his family and minister,
Mustafa the great bosomed one.

3. And the executor of the matter, he
Whose name is the best for religion,

4. And the men of his state, and whoever
He named and honored with attendance,

5. The steamship they call log-keeper
Seeks a visit to the famous, revered one,

6. On a day of celebration the likes of
Which has never occurred in the past,

7. And the people were gathered at noon
As the onlooker sadly turned away.

8. So I saw a tremendous matter
As it persisted in the march,

9. And I reckoned I was confused
And to me affairs were indistinct.

10. The earth met the sky
With a galaxy in which there are full moons,

11. Or is this carpet that steady
Traveling comfort spreads upon it?

12. Or a gift never attained
By the Lord of Khawarnaq and Sadir?

13. Nay, not even Alexander
In his great lofty kingdom,

14. If Chosroes' Syria he possessed
He would become humbled at seeing it,

15. Or Caesar whom there passed by him
He would say bear witness I am trivial.

16. A wondrous mystery
Like the secret in the palaces' folds,

17. She was adorned with it in
Days verified by the truthful advisor,

18. He who constructed her heights and he who
Caused the fresh water to flow through her,

19. And justice most perfectly wrought its description
With the grand ministry and minister.

20. So all are in safety and in
A hope firmly rooted in breasts,

21. God will make good His support
However dire the news appears,

22. And increase him glory to
Glory atop the march of times,

23. Until we see in his shade
That which does not occur to thoughts,

24. The likes of this and its similars
As pearls stringed on necks.

25. Its date he honored with it,
With good fortune the Prince embarked.
