1. Stand still for a while, this is grave news
A momentous affair, by Allah, tremendous

2. We turned away from it as if we were in a spell
Like the People of the Cave or the People of the Pit

3. May Allah have mercy on one who cared for it
And came to Allah with a pure heart

4. The like of this towering mountain, whoever was on
The right path and straight road

5. Mustafa Agha, Minister of State
And War Minister in the old regime

6. Was virtuous, chaste, remembering
Staying up at night in solemnity

7. With majesty adorned by good tidings and in
A gentler disposition than a soft breeze

8. He looked at the world and when he saw
That it was no permanent abode

9. He heard the caller and obeyed his Lord
And became a neighbor to the Forbearing King

10. My master Abdel Aziz Al-Mahdawi
In the soil of Al-Jarrāḥ, so momentous

11. He found bliss in both abodes, blessed is he
With this you are consoled from the painful matter

12. Make the seven oft-repeated verses his companion
Have mercy and ask the Generous Master

13. And be optimistic and date for him
Mustafa's dwelling place is in the Abode of Bliss
