1. Her sickness worsened, her doctor was absent, her medicine as well
Oh my soul, how prolonged is her torment!

2. The rule of strangeness tightened its reins so she rebelled
With her rashness, and her cures diversified

3. She complains hoping that complaining may soften her pain
But seeking relief from her complaint disappoints her

4. And she returns, patient with the pain inside her
For patience in this existence is her consolation

5. She finds misery a pleasure though if she
Saw comfort, in it would be her agony

6. Glory to You, O Lord, in Your wisdom
You made souls' desires so contradicting
