1. For victory's glorious attainment God will surely suffice thee.
Hast thou lingered or hastened onward thy departure?

١. لَكَ اللهُ بِالنَّصْرِ العزيزِ كَفيلُ
أَجَدَّ مُقامٌ أَم أَجدَّ رَحيلُ

2. Triumph is thine; its day flies fast to meet thee,
Its mighty works unfold themselves before thee.

٢. هوَ الفتحُ أَمَّا يَومُهُ فَمُعَجَّلٌ
إليكَ وَأَمَّا صُنعُهُ فَجزِيلُ

3. The signs of victory still appear unceasingly,
Dispelling the dark night of misguidance utterly.

٣. وآياتُ نصرٍ مَا تزالُ وَلَمْ تزَلْ
بهنَّ عماياتُ الضَّلالِ تَزولُ

4. Swords there are that for truth's glory flash bare and brighter,
Where'er thine armies stir, while squadrons prance in might.

٤. سيوفٌ تنيرُ الحقَّ أنَّى انْتَضَيْتَها
وخيلٌ يجولُ النصرُ حَيْثُ تَجولُ

5. For God's cause hast thou gone girt with thy raids life-giving;
Only rebels' path thence deviations lead astray.

٥. أَلا فِي سبيلِ اللهِ غزوُكَ من غَوى
وَضلَّ بِهِ فِي النَّاكثينَ سَبِيلُ

6. If plotter's cunning once dimmed reason's vision sane,
The sword of guidance again shall make all bright and plain.

٦. لئِنْ صَدِئَتْ أَلبابُ قومٍ بمكرِهِمْ
فسيفُ الهدى فِي راحَتَيْكَ صَقيلُ

7. Let Goliath's kin revive their grandsire's ancient fury,-
Young David hath store of stones before thy hand that lie.

٧. فَإِنْ يَحْيَ فيهم بَغْيُ جالُوتَ جَدِّهِمْ
فَأَحجارُ دَاودٍ لَديْكَ مُثُولُ

8. To beat misleading darkness down, shine purity, truth;
Right shall suffice the wrong and falsehood to subdue.

٨. هُدىً وَتُقىً يُودِي الظلامُ لَدَيْهِما
وحقٌّ بدفعِ المُبْطِلينَ كَفيلُ

9. Help comes to speed thy conquests on, help preset and welcome,
Pointing the path of certainty that leads safe home to thee.

٩. بجمعٍ لَهُ من قائدِ النصرِ عاجِلٌ
إِلَيْهِ ومن حَقِّ اليقينِ دَليلُ

10. The deep bath taken floods of ships that obedience yield thee
Each sail is filled unto its yards with strains that shake and thrill;

١٠. تحمَّلَ منه البحرُ بحراً من القَنَا
يروعُ بِهَا أَمواجَهُ وَيَهُولُ

11. Racing the winds that breast the seas, they feel the pride
As their strong steeds full stretch take o'er the course far and wide.

١١. بِكُلِّ مَعَالاةِ الشِّرَاعِ كَأَنَّها
وَقَدْ حملَتْ أُسْدَ الحَقائِقِ غِيلُ

12. Fleet clouds the blasts drive on, but meeting obstruction straight,
Their ostrich riders check them back, or swerving turn them late.

١٢. إِذا سَابَقَتْ شَأْوَ الرِّيَاحِ تخَيَّلَتْ
خيولاً مدى فُرْسَانِهِنَّ خُيُولُ

13. Wild does and antelopes in freedom's wastes that wander,
Have they no jesses? Ringdoves cooing, are their reins unbound?

١٣. سحائبُ تزجيها الرياح فإِنْ وَفَتْ
أَنافَتْ بِأَجْيَادِ النعامِ فُيُولُ

14. Calm houses 'mid their native seats stand though around them sweep
Waves that make fixed hills rock and quake and totter from their steep.

١٤. ظباءُ سِمَامٍ مَا لَهُنَّ مَفَاحِصٌ
وزُرْقُ حَمامٍ مَا لَهُنَّ هَدِيلُ

15. Even so the Tribe their standards raise when night retires,
And dawn discloses loads that late peerless white camels bore.

١٥. سَوَاكِنُ فِي أَوْطانهنَّ كَأَنْ سَمَا
بِهَا الموجُ حَيْثُ الرَّاسِيَاتُ تَزُولُ

16. Slim ships that poisonous exports spread and evil ore,
Little they reck how those sunk low the waves of death explore.

١٦. كما رفع الآلُ الهوادجَ بالضُّحى
غَداةَ استَقَلَّتْ بالخليطِ حُمُولُ

17. Let them but once through swollen necks outspew their hate,
Then woeful plight have they downlaid who feel their deadly weight!

١٧. أَراقِمُ تَقْرِي ناقعَ السّمِّ مَا لَهَا
بما حَملت دون الغواة مقيلُ

18. Then shall the wretch who weaves deceit his fabric's midst discover.
Ah, what a tent of ills hath he outspread himself all over!

١٨. إِذا نَفَثَتْ فِي زوْرِ زِيري حُماتَها
فَوَيْلٌ لَهُ من نَكْزِها وأَليلُ

19. Troops gloom o'er hypocrites as if the very rain rushing
Through native wilds, with floods on floods down valleys pouring!

١٩. هنالك يَبْلُو مرتعَ المكْرِ أَنَّهُ
وخِيمٌ عَلَى نفس الكَفُورِ وَبِيلُ

20. Naked of breast, the youth of valor owns nor shield nor armor, Save in hot fray to lavish life or win proud meed and honor.
Light on fleet charger's back, when the horse strides in battle,

٢٠. كَتائبُ تعتامُ النفاقَ كَأَنَّها
شآبيبُ فِي أَوطانه وَسُيُولُ

21. That selfsame rider afoot would feel the weight a sore saddle!
Scorn hath the sworder for her strokes to measure the limit,

٢١. بكُلِّ فتىً عارِي الأَشَاجِع مَا لَهُ
سِوَى الموت فِي حَمْيِ الوطيسِ مَثِيلُ

22. Ne'er backward drew she from the lunge of levels bright eyes scan it.
The lance that quivers thirsting in her grasp holds ready

٢٢. خفيفٌ عَلَى ظهرِ الجواد إِذَا عدا
ولكن عَلَى صَدْرِ الكَمِيِّ ثقيلُ

23. Four warriors of tribes called "Far" and eke "Away" already.
And Whites that never pact with infidels would make,

٢٣. وجرداءَ لَمْ تبخل يداها بغايةٍ
ولا كَرُّها نحو الطعان بخيلُ

24. From out all refuges comes news their remnants turnd to flight.
Swords red with unbelievers' blood, their keen blades carry It,

٢٤. لها من خوافي لَقْوَةِ الجَوِّ أَرْبَعٌ
وَكَشحانِ من ظبي الفَلا وَتَلِيلُ

25. While the beholder turns his eyes from such a hateful sight.
Brown lances thirst the while for enemy blood full sorely,

٢٥. وَبيضٍ تَرَكْنَ الشِّرْكَ فِي كل مُنْتَأىً
فُلُولاً وَمَا أَزرى بهنَّ فُلُولُ

26. As though their side were fain to drink it off readily;
And when those leveled lances home dart straight, full well you deem them

٢٦. تمورُ دماءُ الكُفرِ فِي شَفَراتِها
ويرجعُ عنها الطرفُ وهوَ كليلُ

27. On their dread errand bound unto men's hearts blood streaming.
Arrows the bowstrings know familiarly in every bosom

٢٧. وأَسمرَ ظمآنِ الكعوبِ كَأَنَّما
بِهِنَّ إِلَى شُرْبِ الدماءِ غليلُ

28. Of foe to thee, alive there to raise wails of anguish dismal;
And when those arrows from the clasp of slayer's hand get loose, Their voice is like the weeping voice heard in booths where women mourn.

٢٨. إِذا مَا هوى للطعنِ أَيقنتَ أَنه
لصرف الرَّدَى نحو النفوس رسولُ

29. Battalions move, in their bright mail strong Victory's presence,
His slaves are all those mighty ones of high and glorious excellence.

٢٩. وَحنَّانَةِ الأَوتَارِ فِي كلِّ مهجةٍ
لعاصيكَ أَوْتَارٌ لَهَا وَذُحُولُ

30. One leads them on o'er land and sea who easy makes it,
Though hard and huge to vulgar minds the enterprise he takes it.

٣٠. إِذا نَبْعُها عنها أَرَنَّ فإنما
صداه نحيبٌ فِي العدى وعويلُ

31. A steed he owns; beauty and glory form that courser's pasture;
Its high-bred airs, from all the famous stock of creatures, catch it.

٣١. كَتائبُ عِزُّ النصرِ فِي جَنَبَاتِها
فكلُّ عزيزٍ يمَّمَتْهُ ذليلُ

32. Through him the Muslim Orient and Maghrib trust to slumber;
Vain, further thence, are wanderings on in ways that cheat and cumber.

٣٢. يُسَيِّرُها فِي البرِّ والبحر قائدٌ
يسيرٌ عَلَيْهِ الخطبُ وَهْوَ جليلُ

33. By Allah's sword he fares him forth, fiercely to forage,
And, by that sword all peril shunned, he ventures courageous.

٣٣. جوادٌ لَهُ من بهجة العزِّ غُرَّةٌ
ومن شِيَمِ الفضلِ المبينِ حُجولُ

34. A brand for sweeping baneful plots with speedy battle,
A shade spread o'er the Faith when noon-blaze rageth hot and sweltering!

٣٤. به أَمِنَ الإسلامُ شرقاً ومغرباً
وغالت غواياتِ الضلالةِ غُولُ

35. When from the Gloom of Night bursts Morning's face so splendid,
Be sure the promised Day of Error then is soon to end!

٣٥. يَصُولُ بسيفِ اللهِ عَنَّا وإنما
بِهِ السيف فِي ضَنْكِ المقام يصولُ

36. Gentle when visit he must his garden's dwellers often,
But to the noise of Misery's moan quick runs his ear so open!

٣٦. حُسامٌ لداءِ المكر والغدر حاسمٌ
وظلٌّ عَلَى الدين الحنيف ظليلُ

37. A flood he is endowed that seems exhaustless spending,
With gifts and favors evermore to grace his rule unending!

٣٧. إِذا انْشَقَّ ليلُ الحربِ عن صُبحِ وجههِ
فقد آن من يوم الضلالِ أَصيلُ

38. And what companion star thro' Night's dark shades could lead aright, he dreams
Unless it were the radiant ship its inmates' lamp-rays winning!

٣٨. كَريمُ التأَنِّي فِي عِقَابِ جُنَاتِهِ
وَلَكِنْ إِلَى صوت الصَّرِيخ عَجُولُ

39. To meet his glance breathe spirits pure wafted from Zephyr, Aglow a cheek like Ocean's wave with crimson color!
Ensigns on every side bend low before his presence,

٣٩. لِيَزْهُ بِهِ بحرٌ كَأَنَّ مُدُودَدُ
نوافلُ من معروفه وفضُولُ

40. And neighings shrill announce him near, from dust-gray steeds evidencing.
He comes! and rebel spies behold prone on the boundary,

٤٠. ويا رُبَّ نجمٍ في الدُّجى وَدَّ أَنَّه
من المركَبِ الحاوي سناه بديلُ

41. While happy drums give notice loud and banners wave him nigh!
Forlorn, since he the lion roused with furious hunger wild!

٤١. تهادت بِهِ أَنفاسُ رَوْحٍ من الصَّبا
وَخَدٌّ من البحر الخِضَمِّ أَسيلُ

42. No conqueror's troops can fail that start from Zem Zem springing, No warriors forced from Knights' hard fight their onslaught stayed while winging!
What bars them then? or who from wish shall e'er divert them,

٤٢. وقد أَوْمَتِ الأَعلامُ نحوَ حُلُولِهِ
وحنَّ من الغُرِّ الجياد صهيلُ

43. When every flashing sword doth point toward thy glooms or lighten!
On freemen's sturdy shoulders rest firm seats unshaken,

٤٣. فجلّى سناه العدْوَتَيْنِ وَبَشَّرَتْ
خوافقُ راياتٍ لَهُ وَطبولُ

44. A land where white the Forelock toss high-muscled, nobly-taken!
For, lo! the tribes announced in ravines there and hollows

٤٤. وأَيقنَ باغِي حتفِه أَنَّ أُمَّه
وَقَدْ أَمَّهُ الليثُ الهصورُ هَبُولُ

45. The Battle, while exultingFlags o'er their victors follow!
Hail! Man of triumphs, rise of joys, thouost won them!

٤٥. فواتحُ عِزٍّ مَا لَهَا دونَ زمزمٍ
وَلا دُونَ سَعْي المروتَيْنِ قُفُولُ

46. Figured in scrolls before thy face their sequels endless run!
Two branches nurtured on thy fame's live tree we see,

٤٦. وهل عائقٌ عنها وكلّ سَنِيَّةٍ
إليك تَسَامى أَوْ إليكَ تَؤولُ

47. And roots firm-fixt to bear the graceful stems there be!
Twain Imams betwixt peace and war a glorious nation, Wealth showering, and wails melodious chanting tribulation.

٤٧. سيوفٌ عَلَى الجُرْدِ العِتاقِ عَزِيزَةٌ
وَأَرْضٌ إِلَى البَيْتِ العَتيقِ ذَلُولُ

48. All hail this month whose name records thy might and blessings
To prove thee firmly fast dost thou the daylight hours pass!

٤٨. فقد أَذِنتْ تِلْكَ الفِجَاجُ وَدُمِّثَتْ
حُزونٌ لِمَهوَى مَرِّهَا وسُهولُ

49. So thou attain'st the meed meet for each steadfast patient,
Nor shall thy constant zeal lack aye most noble payment!

٤٩. وقامَ بِهَا عند المقامِ مُبَشِّرٌ
وشَامَ سناها شَامَةٌ و طَفِيلُ

٥٠. فيَهنيك يَا منصورُ مبدأُ أَنْعُمٍ
عَوائدُه صنعٌ لديكَ جَمِيلُ

٥١. وفرعان من دوح الثناء نمتهما
من المجد فِي التُّرْبِ الزَّكِيِّ أُصولُ

٥٢. عقيبان بَيْنَ الحربِ وَالمُلْكِ دولة
وعزٌّ مُدَالٌ منهما ومُديلُ

٥٣. مليكانِ عَمَّ السّلمَ والحربَ منهما
غِنىً وَغَنَاءٌ مُبْرَمٌ وَسحيلُ

٥٤. وَيَهْنِيكَ شَهْرٌ عند ذي العرش شاهِدٌ
بأَنك بَرٌّ بالصيام وَصُولُ

٥٥. فَوُفِّيتَ أَجرَ الصابرين ولا عَدَا
مساعِيكَ فَوزٌ عاجلٌ وَقَبُولُ
