1. You have good tidings as long as your two bright stars remain delightful to the eye,
The two kings of Kindah who grew up and came of age wearing the crowns of glory,

2. My two pure bred steeds on whom the diseases of Ma'add did not grow,
And my two swords of Kindah unsheathed on the two sublime summits,

3. My two polished Indian swords on your two valiant shoulders,
And my two towering spears, your two objects of pride,

4. Both of them the pillars of religion and life,
Equal in their dark hair and sidelocks on both temples,

5. You have devoted them to the defense of Allah’s religion,
So they kept their vow, fully committed,

6. And they still are - and will always be - shouldering the burdens of the caliphate,
You initiated laws and they kept listening and working diligently,

7. They rose like two lights in the sky of your glory,
Like the shining rise of two brilliant stars,

8. So the kingdom gained the strongest of fortresses,
And the faith gained the most impregnable of strongholds,

9. With the Hashimite sun of the state of Abd Shams,
And the Sword of Allah among them in both hands,

10. And its supporter who guaranteed protection over its highest frontiers,
You nurtured them on wars’ milk until you made them intimate with it,

11. And they still are its suckling babies, adolescents and youths.
So your hopes did not prove false when they came forward

12. Competing for the farthest extent of glories.
Nor were your wishes unfulfilled when they towered

13. Over the highest ranks of loftiness,
Without forgetting the covenants of the two Harithas,

14. Or losing track of Mundhir’s last wishes,
Without disgracing Dhu Kala's exploits,

15. Or Kulaib and Rabi’a’s women forgetting the two Ru’yns.
And when Islam cried out for help,

16. To its ancient customs you promptly responded,
As you did in its early days when you personally

17. Received the swords of its enemies with your palms,
An inherited honour you snatched decisively

18. From your cousins in the battle of Hunayn,
And you held its reins carefully and wisely,

19. Handing it over to your first two grandsons.
Oh glory of guidance when they took over, independently

20. The party of God, unreliant on others!
And oh disgrace of enemies when they confronted them

21. As army commanders with their regiments!
Good omens foretold their coming,

22. And the luckiest stars rose to assist them.
The troops of victory marched in abundance

23. Seeking shade under the banner of honour.
Battalions thronged like the wings of night,

24. Lodging over the full moon with their darkness,
With every creepy crawly thing makingmoves,

25. As if wearing a coat of two frayed patches.
A warrior the lofty summits gave birth to,

26. And the carpet-weaver of death bore his twin,
As if his teeth were the swords of a transgressing army

27. Storming wildly with Al-Hussein’s blood,
And every rough-edged Indian scimitar,

28. And polished double-edged sword.
As though they and the night of war cloaking in darkness

29. Were two flickering lights within it.
But when they shone illuminated

30. By the glow of the two shining moons,
They wreaked freely havoc and destruction

31. Upon the settlements of the unbelievers.
The armies of death writhed among them

32. In awful horror, more terrifying than two monsters.
As if the orbit of planets surrounded them

33. Toting them in between the two dog stars.
The mounts of polytheists were led away from it

34. To exile as they became the guides.
They cried out in blood over its dwellings

35. A life for the religion, the bellow of two cattle-raids.
With willpower supported and aim guided straight,

36. And might helped and bestowed with victory.
Thus the fortresses of security were transformed

37. Into deathbeds for every insolent transgressor.
Therein a treacherous sword of betrayal was unsheathed

38. As the crow croaked on the day of Bayn.
So it became as a second haunt

39. And a third home for the two hyenas.
The allies there invoke: “Would that between me and you

40. Was the breadth of the two horizons beforehand!”
Had you found him more ominous than ill fortune,

41. You would deem him more disastrous than Hunayn.
Losing the kingdom, all hopes are shattered,

42. And failing might one of the two deathblows.
If rogues were to feel its dread,

43. Wolves would flee with the two bellies.
Every deceiver of you did not deceive

44. The swords that fatally strike with both edges.
Their schemes collapsed into the most disgraceful abyss

45. Of the lowliest stream of everlasting humiliation.
With a sword whose sharpness souls cannot endure

46. Appearing from behind the two steel blades.
Your enemy thereupon fell, deceived of hopes

47. And life itself, suffering twofold disappointment.
Thus polytheism gets both the two disgraces

48. While Islam gets one of the two beauties.
Spoils that only the records of the two guard angels can compass,

49. As if the land had gently come to us walking
With the mounts of Wajrah or the two slopes of Shi'b,

50. Adorned with the highest and proudest of necks bent over
With arms bound as captives between two banners.

51. Royal tents whose ropes your sword has loosened
From their fixings out of energy and pride.

52. Oh joy of spears and pride between two swords on day of might!
And oh iron rod who pierces the thickness of the two armours!

53. With the stabbing of two most generous and bountiful,
And the striking of two most glorious and perfect.

54. To God belong the pulpits when a conquest comes
After the two glad tidings!

55. If "Fath" (conquest) is its name, then "Tamam" (fulfilment)
Is its title, completing the two bounties.

56. A conquest that covered the whole world in darkness,
Beneath it bowed the necks of the people of the two scriptures.

57. Everywhere the cross fell dead,
Lying slain on its face and palms.

58. The exploits of two wealthy ones have prevailed, flourishing In the spheres of glories.
Ambitions that compete racing

59. For the inheritance of Mundhir and Hujr’s realm,
Two suns showing superiority and pride over all glory,

60. So renounce praising them and the west!
Two seas of generosity, lions against every opponent,

61. Thus ban your two enemies from visiting the two cattle enclosures!
And oh Qutb of Glory, you have bestowed bounty

62. That you have completed through the two sweet basils!
May the two delightful ones you gave birth to

63. Always remain joy to the eyes of Islam!
