1. You are called, so listen to the caller of joy
And life is sweet for you, so drink and relish
١. دُعيتَ فَأَصْغِ لِداعي الطَّرَبْ
وطاب لَكَ الدهرُ فاشْرَبْ وَطِبْ
2. This is the herald of the new spring
Bringing us tidings that it has drawn near
٢. وهذا بَشيرُ الربيع الجديد
يُبَشِّرُنَا أَنَّهُ قَدْ قَرُبْ
3. A spring that delights with fine musk
And wondrous making and marvelous nature
٣. بَهَارٌ يَروقُ بِمِسْكٍ ذَكِيٍّ
وصُنعٍ بَديعٍ وخَلْقٍ عَجَبْ
4. The branches of the barberry have leafed
Giving us silver that shines with gold
٤. غصونُ الزَّبَرْجَدِ قَدْ أَوْرَقَتْ
لَنَا فِضَّةً نَوَّرَتْ بالذَّهَبْ
5. When gathered on hills of silk
And standing before you like playthings
٥. إذا جُمِعَتْ فِي جِبالِ الحَرِيرِ
وقَامَتْ أَمامك مِثلَ اللُّعَبْ
6. It is their due to see the drinkers
As their market overflows with finesse
٦. فَمِنْ حَقِّها أَنْ تَرى الشَّارِبينَ
وَقَدْ نَفَّقَتْ سُوقُهُمْ بالنُّخَّبْ
7. That you may ask God for lasting days
For the slave of the King, the King of Arabs
٧. وأَنْ تَسْألوا اللهَ طُولَ البَقَاءِ
لِعَبْدِ المَلِيكِ مَليكِ العَرَبْ
8. For were it not for his beauties, life would not be sweet
And were it not for his qualities, life would not relish
٨. فلولا مَحاسِنُهُ لَمْ تَرُقْ
ولولا شمائِلُهُ لَمْ تَطِبْ
