1. When you wish, the stars bear witness for me,
To the agony of a longing lover and the sleeplessness of one who lies awake.

2. A stranger whom separation has clothed in tattered robes,
And whom the branches surround with the embrace of one giving birth.

3. Far, when day breaks, after familiarity now departed,
Prolonged, during the night's gloom, after continuous separation.

4. As if the darkness of night has blocked his path, while my eyelids cling to the grazing of the flock.
And the horizons around him are clad in the mourning garments of early-risers lamenting daybreak.

5. Ask me, after the completeness of night I traversed with the sigh of a longing lover and impassioned breaths,
About your fragrant dwellings which I enveloped with complaints of night visitors to the insensitive.

6. My separation is prolonged by the long night, content
To recall a vanished intimacy no longer present.

7. And the fullness of the sky with stars makes me desolate
For a planet in the sunset of separation, singular.

8. Did I not know the dawn was your likeness before it,
So I recognize its successor now from the appointments missed.

9. It will keep the pact of loyalty to me if you break it.
My agony in passion for you will honor my pledges.

10. Soon my requests will be revealed
By the most blossomed of meadows and the most splendid achievements.

11. A king who gathers kingship and glory,
And wards off harm to reputations and glory with a shield.

12. He aroused the heavens for religion, so orthodoxy adhered to him
And guided the known path, the roads of praise.

13. Alive, he covered the horizons, east and west,
So the tracks of the guide cannot be followed in any direction.

14. With a sword flanking the destinies of fates, a challenger,
And a saber subduing the clouds, a fighter.

15. A scion whose nobility thrived on the lineages of Himer,
To every person of pride, a constructor.

16. He possesses, from the pride of Arabs, glories
Like each highest, firmly rooted, foundation.

17. Fortresses of power and supremacy, as though
The suns gained power from the rising of those fortresses.

18. A young man whom fate, obstinate, submitted to,
So he came to it, handing over the reins.

19. He is the full moon, in its rising, its light, and his sword
For all time, chases it in its own domain.

20. From him hopes bowed down,
And he surpassed all in the far-reaching arena.

21. The most generous of chamberlains veiled sovereignty from him,
And the most generous of leaders guided the troops of victory.

22. The battalions whose motto is the oneness of God
For them, the day of infidel humiliation has not one.

23. When they are intent on protecting him, it is as though
The thunderbolts of heaven swooped down upon it.

24. If after this he returns to the abode of kingship,
He has secured its borders with the opinion of a warrior.

25. Victory witnessed him even if it did not behold him,
And patience fought for him even if it did not contend.

26. May God grant victory to the Victorious One, supporting his religion,
And reward him, the best son succeeding the best father.

27. And may He strengthen this sovereignty and religion,
With the right hand of favor which aided the best supporter.

28. O you who unite Islam, collectively, and leave
The enemies’ lands desolate, violating the settlements.

29. And plunge into the midst of tumult,
As the thirsty hasten to fresh water springs.

30. It bodes well that the Feast has come to you,
With the cocks heralding joy and return.

31. It greeted you with glad tidings and wished you well,
And the fairest witness supported the herald of good news.

32. So the days continue as holidays due to your merit,
For every loyal friend, sincere in gratitude.

33. And you remain the refuge of a stranger, one hopeful,
And the recourse for one distraught, and the goal of one with purpose.
