12. Or they have excused themselves with fleeing lives
That know well that flight is no use to them.

13. Salvation does not deceive itself in their thinking,
Nor life make itself seen in their hopes.

Upon a folk who have become uncovered in their beds.

Nor does your blade miss what opposes it.

18. With God as your protecting neighbor, both settled and unsettled,
In the expanse of the land, both its near and its distant reaches,
