1. O people, this generous land of yours
Was shaken at dawn by its tremor

2. We fled with haste along with the wind
Or it was said we were driven out by its weights

3. The structure of each builder collapsed
And whoever saw its horrors panicked

4. That is only because your Lord, in whom
Are the deterrents for people, inspired it

5. A day in which God manifested and shone
The lights of a kingdom that shows you its majesty

6. Egypt cracked in fear of His plot
And the tremor traversed its sands and mountains

7. Even the mosques bowed down in submission
Even the minarets inclined for bowing

8. If not for the intercession of Ahmed the best of creation
Our Lord would have destroyed its roots

9. O our Lord turn us to You and make us steadfast
Through Your guiding intercessor, the greatest of its peers
