1. My flawed creed has corrupted me
Yet my creed grants my poetry elegance

2. I bear this burden seriously
Atop a playful steed's back

3. My Master Ali was not pleased
That I insulted the Prophet's companions

4. And he chided me saying:
"You fool! Why have you not repented

5. Of insulting a people, hoping for
Their grace, which will not come to pass

6. In your ignorance, you have cast off contentment
With that which God's fire has purified you"
