3. It has seen your army and victory in
Its banners dragging its tails

4. And the vast green prairie arrogantly flaunting
With your approaching kingdom embellished

7. So recognize the good tidings for him and be a guarantor

9. And you do not want afterwards a soothsayer
Who mumbles words when he says them

10. O seeker of my people, and I have for them
Messages carrying advice loaded

11. Tell them from me and the messenger does not
Lie about the news he carries

Or the events of time and its swamps

With the sword in his grip rusting

15. His uncles were not pushed in glory
Except when he counts his in-laws

Wandering in the land as he roams

17. In every horizon from his gloomy dwellings
A cloud with blood it drawn

18. And well-known incidents in the land
From which Syria shook with tremors

19. O supporter of the kingdom, though much of it

Spending his wealth in exile

23. Neighbors would have been better had he managed it well
The full moon would not have strayed from its halo

Struggle against time and its horrors

25. In a battle where you kill its heroes
Or are laden with its burdens

26. After Wathab and the likes
None among them were like Numairiyya

27. And they have no obscure betrayal with you
That makes the pitcher pour its contents

28. Had they sought your peace, it would have been
A kinship of your affection sought

29. But a deceiver deluded them
They reckoned their misguidance as gods

30. An idea was not made clear to their minds
And how numerous were their ignorances

32. If elation reaches the listener
It is because she is an impulsive young gazelle

33. Sincere to you, she does not claim
The folly of love and its nonsense

34. Nor has the piercing thought from her mind
Moved to a place describing its ruins

35. Praising you distracts her from others
And she could not be fit except for it
