1. If they deny your favors among them, then
They are debts that spears with their blades will settle.
١. فَإِن كَفَروا نُعماكَ فيهِم فَإِنَّها
دُيون تَقاضَتها الرِّماحُ الذَّوابِلُ
2. And if in ignorance they meet them with rejection,
Their night fires and tents have made them known.
٢. وَإِن قابَلوها بِالجُحودِ سَفاهَةً
فَقَد عَرَفَتها سُمرُهُم وَالمَناصِلُ
3. They came to you while their abodes were dwellings
Of modesty, though their tents disobeyed the rain.
٣. أَتوكَ فَحانَت ساهريها مَضارِبٌ
حَياء وَعاصَت مشرعيها عَولملُ
