1. Rise, O auspicious one, in the protection of the Merciful wherever he may be
In the care of your Lord, O Caliph of his Lord

2. He did not burden you with worries and sorrows
Every land you visited was pleased and angered

3. On the day you met him and on the day you departed
When you arrived you arrived joyfully

4. And when you left you left sorrowfully
You depart and leave in necks favours

5. While gratitude for them remains debts in necks
As for Zubaid, whenever you speak to him of it

6. Certainty regarding it and other than it suspicion
You left its people, and how much supplication for you

7. Hands outstretched to the sky and eyes
Some supplicated for you on earth, O King of mankind

8. And some of the angels in the sky said Amen
They asked the Guardian and before their asking

9. He guaranteed and vouched for your acceptance
I gave them blessings from Us that multiply their gratitude

10. I delayed them and lessened the price
So in what tradition can it fulfill its gratitude

11. And surrender, while tongues of praise betray
O You who created people as You will

12. No constriction overtakes them nor change
You instituted rule over people and made them kings

13. So the free man is a slave and the dear one disgraced
And You regulated Your kingdom so the far is like the near

14. On earth, and stolen wealth is protected
And You prepared for the pure religion its perfection

15. So it has a radiant life and forehead
You revived a tradition of guidance I was loyal to

16. Amid schools, dead and buried
And You returned the hanging carpets of mosques to them

17. So they wore what remains of them and adorns them
The scriptures are recited, prayers established

18. Remembrance, takbeer, and call to prayer
And books are copied, schools flourished

19. With knowledge in them, and sciences arts
And You rose with Islam, a defiant rising

20. Until it reached high and the religion straightened
And You commanded charities to their deserving people

21. So they were distributed among them while hadiths lament
O joy of caliphs amid their graves

22. Through you, O appointed successor al-Ma'mun
You brought to them after cessation

23. The breast of reward which today is yielding
None fulfills duty to fathers except thus

24. But your giving is unlike any other given
Their charities returned as they were

25. Before, and through your virtue the poor live
They were being lost in what was paid on their behalf

26. Obligatory or voluntary
So for you is delight and for them through it a deed

27. It delighted them and delighted your eye
You are nothing but this every day

28. Deeds purified and praise obliged
And the white shine and spears give shade

29. And truth rises and misguidance diminishes
You do what the Guardian willed however He willed

30. Until God says "Be" and it becomes
