1. Your fasting in the month of Ramadan is clothed
In garments it has not taken off on the Night of Power

2. One silent day for you is worth more
Than a thousand years for the wilderness, not just a month

3. The month of fasting wearies itself
To keep what is recited to it of righteousness

4. Yet your hands could not contain to memorize
Its pages, your hands cannot be counted or limited

5. You sought in it the doing of every reward
So it went away burdened on its back with what you entrusted it

6. And you made it busy from the truth, occupying it
So it did not write in deeds other than yours a line

7. And no wonder that your affair distracted it from them
Since the much preoccupied the little

8. If the effort of creation was lost next to its effort
As a sprinkling of drops was lost in the sea

9. For God accepted all because of it
And removed from the great creation (some) burden

10. You busied a pure soul that inclines
Its morals to praise and reward

11. And you put forth good the like of which is not put forth
And you met God's bounty with praise and gratitude

12. The world did not overtake you though it contained
In your right hand what benefits and harms

13. So yours is alive with prayer and supplication
And the abundance of what is recited to you of remembrance

14. And your morning is in fasting, knowledge and obedience
And that is with God among the greatest reward

15. A circle of knowledge birds fly over
Scented with aromas, aloof from nonsense and gossip

16. In its shade the people of knowledge clustered around you
As the stars cluster around the full moon

17. You have no need to go to them, while many of them
There have need to you and poverty

18. They came to you with knowledge but you know more than them
And are more knowledgeable of the good and evil in it

19. So they were around you the value of a blessing
From God too majestic to be met with disbelief

20. When man looks at who is below him
He knows the value of God's bounty in him

21. If the world and all its people were weighed
Against your success they would not equal a fragment of success

22. For you are to the Lord of the Throne among us a deputy
Your existence among us is like rain for the thirsty land

23. You were given the reward of the benefactors among humanity
And you came with the most merciful conduct of a righteous parent

24. When they did good, you did good among them, and whoever harmed
You dragged over him the tail of pardon and concealment

25. Whoever Ismail rules over
Has spent the night with him in safety from time

26. A young man who does not care when he unleashes his resolve
Whether in destruction of enemies or prosperity

27. A soul of character that did not walk in doubt
And did not mix custom and strangeness in its endeavor

28. When we uncloak from his face a glimpse
We see the waters of generosity flowing in his face

29. For hopes have come to incline at his door
Like rows of interceding and harmonious strings

30. So whoever of them had a hope, estimated his need
Then understand the extent of your generosity, do not estimate
