1. My estrangement grows each time we speak
By the sword of estrangement we were struck

2. Though sheathed, it pierced my eyelids
Had I yielded, my eyes would be unscathed

3. A doe, enamored by mankind
Passed by one who shot arrows

4. Or misled by slander’s gossip
Spreading lies that misinformed

5. No words I utter would suffice
I say in regret, regretting indeed

6. Her affection was met with malice
So with me, the sanctuary grew desolate

7. O you who sends piercing glances
Know that blood demands blood in turn

8. His abandonment lit fires in my heart
Consuming it, leaving ashes within

9. They said forget him, but I said my love
Is unforgotten, though forgotten we are

10. His apathetic eyes shed blood
Unaware of blood spilled or yet to pour

11. They said his indifferent eyes have wearied
I said, if they wearied, how wearied are we

12. Why do they blame the lover for his love?
Not he, but they are lost in delusion

13. Wait, for the day will come when
What was built by injustice will crumble

14. The virtuous king, never has he
Been like a tumultuous, raging sea

15. Victorious commander, when engaged in war
He came down like a crushing flood

16. The earth cried for him
O living army, restore the bloodshed

17. He came like rain after drought
Yet they still sought to strike at him

18. So strike the enemies, and touch not
What would earn your Lord’s wrath

19. Say to the enemies of Allah, no more
Can any among you speak falsehoods

20. Whoever has done us good, then evil
Let evil he sent forth return to him

21. Whoever of you repents to his Lord
Perhaps the Lord will forgive what transpired

22. How near is mercy to the sinner
Who repents and earns what good deeds remain

23. Say to the disbelievers, submit and beware
No Muslim shall live if a Muslim dies

24. For your deluded opponent is but blind
Deaf as the serpent who no season knows

25. And you corruptors, repent, do not
Prosper by that which provokes wrath

26. Obedience must surely be completed
But never shall you be tasked beyond your means

27. And fear a screaming punishment which
None can endure, however steadfast

28. No refuge from it wherever you may be
The birds cannot escape other birds

29. And the blessed Commander lives protected
Impregnable fortress in the heavens

30. In ample favor in habitation
The wide desert still tethered to bounty
