1. You threaten me and bark furiously,
Seeking something you are too weak to accomplish.

2. You blamed me for something harmless,
Using it wrongly like an inept physician.

3. You composed your message with detached letters,
Showing arrogance and insolence towards me.

4. I was not inclined to reciprocate your coldness,
Had you not been arrogant, O unfair one.

5. I gave you more than what others usually give you,
Things you are not accustomed to receiving from others.

6. Yet you rewarded me with this,
Though a man's origin can be known through his generosity.

7. Had it not been for my forbearance, I would have returned my assault,
And repaid you, though the noble act with kindness.

8. But I forgave you, and I'm not the first one,
Whose good deed was rewarded with ingratitude.
