Seek what I never had before me

And I attained the hope of reaching knowledge

8. Fate harmed me and made me hope
That I stumble sometimes on slips

9. And extended a palm so it scared me
A man whose fangs and claws were bare

10. After your favors streamed through my body
And sleep flowed through my veins

11. I attained it and through it my comfort
Beyond the reach of any grasping hands

12. And I was shaded by your complete favors
The shade of your favors does not move

13. My soul is yours, how you adorned me with favors
Their clouds drawing hopes in handfuls

14. You left me speechless, so I cannot thank them
My thanks, words and acts fall short

15. But your unwillingness to grant some favors
Guided me through the paths

16. Your gifts elevate souls
And your restraint strengthens resolve

17. You're neither angry nor pleased with a man
Unless you intend the man's reform

18. Perhaps a breeze of sympathy from you soon
Returns to me as if nothing changed

19. And takes me back to what I was accustomed to
Of some of your kindness in words and deeds

That I may shake off my sobriety like a drunk

22. So I remain, my home filled with joy
Its folks imagine my drunkenness from rapture

23. And my life greens from its freshness, and worries
Of sadness and anxiety vanish from my door

24. Fate will come to me apologizing
For what passed in its early days

25. This is fanciful talk, yet it's honest
So tell me of your downpouring generosity

26. And give me glad tidings of favors from you
That will come soon and good things in haste

27. Tomorrow your favors will grace my home
Dressing its dwellers in finery and robes

28. Tomorrow your favors will be my neighbors
A neighbor's favor is the finest garb

29. And I will gain might from his state's rule
For its might is in the brow of states
