To go on Hajj or travel through the lands

2. He had been a Sufi, not one settled
In a town with its linen-makers

ุน ุฃูููุง ุงููุทุงู
3. Rather his view was to wander from
Land to land, from home to homes
ูฃ. ุจู ุฑุฃูู ุงูุชุทูุงู ู
ู ุฃุฑุถ ุฅูู
ุฃุฑุถ ูู
ู ูุทู ุฅูู ุฃูุทุงู
4. Had it been his desire to stay in your land
He would have stayed, in bountiful heavens

ูุฃูุงู
ูููุง ูู ูุนูู
ุฌูุงู
5. But he fears the jurists as much
As every student fears melting away

ู ุงูุฐูุจุงู
6. So if he sees blissful Yemen like a heaven
He finds jurists there like fires

ู ุงูุณุนูุฏ ูุฌูุฉ
ุฃููู ุจูุง ุงููููุงุก ูุงูููุฑุงู
7. And his hell from them is more painful
Than the heat of hell, than its boiling

8. He who claims to love him is naught
But the love of the ape for the rats

9. The jurists will never stop viewing
Sufis as evil and corrupt

ูุฃููู ุงูุชุตูู ุฃุนุธู
ุงูุดูุฆุงู
10. Two groups completely opposed
One like mist, the other like fires

ุฎุชููุงู ุฌุฏุง ูุฐู

ุซู ุงูุถุจุงุจ ูุชูู ูุงููููุงู
11. The battle's fury rages between them
With no wounds but those of the tongue

12. Each calls the other misguided
Of the party of error, band of Satan

ุฑุฉ ุงูุดูุทุงู
13. You see the jurist wishes the Sufi
To perish, though all but God perish

ูููู ููู ุบูุฑ ุฑุจู ูุงูู
14. What decides but the stone of Ismail
To make Muhammad the victim each dawn

15. How Ismail wished for Isaac
To slaughter him with his own hands

16. He kept striving to kill him
Relentless, without pause or fatigue

ูุง ูุงููุงู ุนูู ููุง ู
ุชูุงู
17. And he sends poems inciting
Rulers against him everywhere
ูกูง. ููุณูุฑ ุงูุฃุดุนุงุฑ ููู ู
ุญุฑุถุง
ูููุง ุนููู ููู ุฐู ุณูุทุงู
18. Fabricating words that malign
And poison the princes against him
ูกูจ. ููุฐุจ ุฃููุงูุง ุชุจูุช ุณูุงุฑูุง

19. How they rejoice when they slander
Poor Muhammad, so weak and distressed

ุฏ ุฐุงู ุงูุถุนูู ุงูุนุงูู
20. With how many malicious poems, meant
To flatter each ruler and prince

ูุงู ููู ุฃูุงุฌูุง ูุงุชู ุจูุง

ุฏุญุง ููู ุฎูููุฉ ูุชูุงูู
21. How they have rallied jurists against him
With great zeal and effort they ply

ุนุตุจ ุงููููุง ุนููู ู
ุจุงูุบุงู
ูู ุฐุงู ุฐุง ุฌุฏ ูุฐุง ุฅู
ุนุงู
22. In Mansur's rule, they sought to end him
But for the Almighty's protection

ูุตูุฑ ูุงู ุงุจุงุฏู
ูููุง ููุชู ุญู
ุงูุฉ ุงูุฑุญู

23. Their rage at him was immense
It engulfed the far reaches of the world

24. Their fury was stoked
By the winds of injustice and assault

ุจูุจูุจ ุฑูุญ ุงูุธูู
ูุงูุนุฏูุงู
25. It almost melted our souls
Before it approached our bodies
ูขูฅ. ูุงุฏุช ุชุฐูุจ ุจุญุฑูุง ุฃุฑูุงุญูุง

26. How it burned the Sufis' wool, and does
Wool have remnants after fire?

ู ุจููุง ู
ุน ุงูููุฑุงู
27. Ismail had stoked it, making its fuel
None but the Karmฤnฤซ

ุณุนุฑูุง ููู
ูุฌุนู ููุง ุญุทุจุง ุณูู ุงููุฑู
ุงู
28. But God protected him, Glorious is He
From its raging inferno

ู ุญุฑูุง ุงูู
ุดุจูุจ ูุงูููุจุงู
29. And now his resolve has hardened
To travel, melting travellers' heels
ูขูฉ. ูุงูุขู ูุฏ ุฌุฏุช ุนุฒูู

ุณูุฑ ูุฐูุจ ุฑูุงุฆุจ ุงูุฑูุจุงู
30. Fleeing those people bent on destroying him
Secretly and openly alike
ูฃู . ูุฑุจุงู ู
ู ุงูููู
ุงูุฃููู ูุณุนูู ูู
ุฅููุงูู ูู ุงูุณุฑ ูุงูุฅุนูุงู
31. So grant him leave, O King of the World
For with leave he finds greatest safety

ูุงููุณุญ ููู ูู ุฃุฌู ุฃู

32. Permit him to journey, so he may escape
The blow of every sharp sword

33. Your leave grants him life-saving gift
A protection for his soul, so decide to guard him

ูู ูุฌุฏ ูู ุจุตูุงู
34. And pardon the jurists for his departure
And him from them, O scion of Qahtan

ูู ุจุณูุฑู

35. Resolve with this view the conflict
That long sickened the abode of faith

36. You still do every good
Your hand is ever gentle and kind
