1. What fault lies with the high one towards days gone by?
And for your weeping over this lofty abode?

2. You were wont to it- it knows no other custom-
Ever reverent and honoring it.

3. Kings hovered over the most high and found no way
To enter it, while it welcomed me in peace.

4. For you each day brings innovation in virtues
None dare surpass in their practice a leader.

5. Accounts question you and disappear,
Manners, before people, when you rise high.

6. Kingship among you is by true inheritance.
It rules and divides evenly between people.

7. By night the youth you owned wakes up
King, close in bonds to forcefulness.

8. Among kings who can count what you have counted
Among them of fathers, not uncles?

9. None who inherit their father from you
But find increase from you in honor.

10. Thus every king in the world sought from you
Pride, and your kingship strengthened forever.

11. When a crack flowed you plastered its tatters.
Made it even, none faulted the plaster.

12. In every land each year an order passes,
And makes way for an order's establishment.

13. The lasting of your kingship tells that you
Perfect thanks, best of all benefaction.

14. In pagan times you saw not your kingship.
Thus it lasted, and lasted into Islam.

15. Kingship in you- an ingrained nature
Of my flesh's whole, and of bone.

16. A king God placed among you and ordained,
So sleep in peace, for the Lord of the Worlds guards me.

17. Speak not to me of sleep, seeking rest
When dangers press, I'm no sleepyhead.

18. But so you know your Lord is wakeful
To all matters, better guarding than you can.

19. Your fortune would suffice, if not for what you love
Of riding forth armed, banners unfurled.

20. Your care refuses the claim that you ruled it
By fortune, not by the sword's edge.

21. You have indeed fully quelled its great troubles,
And you have protected- you are the best advocate.

22. You pushed into the age's breast a respite
Cast off from us fears pressed and urgent.

23. When against the foe you rise in might
Their stars around a full moon's perfection.

24. The banners flutter over the routed enemy,
With swords, spears, and arrows.

25. No slave of passion rules like the slave
Of God in agreements and dissent.

26. The Victorious King, son of the Triumphant,
Son of the Most Noble, son of the Zealous Warrior,

27. And son of the Struggler, the Supported, the Conqueror,
The Martyr- rare pearls in a string.

28. Who does not complete his pride among all
The pride of fatherhood, grasps not perfection.

29. What pride for one his fathers approve not,
Save a pride stricken with sickness?

30. It congratulates you a feast day came to you
Heralding attainment of all noble ends.
