1. Your left hand is still in my right,
And my left hand has never touched your right.

2. The hope I envision is not in
The traits of one who is graced with prosperity.

3. Your enemies will one day be defeated
On a day that is too narrow for the foe.

4. And the nobles will become, because of their enemies,
Like anchored arrows that have settled.

5. In your courtyard the ministers have anchored
Their steeds, so they have no departure.

6. And for the eminent, everyday
There are ranks in which there is ascension.

7. One rises to the rank of this one,
And another impregnable is elevated and does not cease.

8. And they have prided themselves to the people with it,
A position that lengthens but does not reach.

9. And you, O Shahab, are for them a leader,
So the system of their knot does not unravel.

10. You were created, in form and manners,
As you desired - majesty in its expansiveness is glory.

11. Your traits belie easy gain, and in your deliberation,
Your qualities are not equalled by mountains.

12. Indeed, your features have won the valleys,
And the heavy clouds have not equalled them.

13. How much you have encompassed, and you have not broken a promise,
Nor have the North winds kept pace with them.

14. You have set forth the traditions of virtue among us,
And have cast off the recognized from convention.

15. You have revived generosity and chosen from it
Generosity that no request can taint.

16. You have satisfied the Vanquisher and the wilderness,
So they have hastened toward your field.

17. You have gathered to yourself the means to eminence,
Thus you have become unmatched, as is said.

18. Poetry falls short in your praise,
So praising you is unattainable.

19. You have come near in humility and risen in worth
Thus the brows of the stars are your slippers.

20. So O cave of ministry, if the cave of my security
Is made safe when calamity is uprooted.

21. An existence towards which my existence is consoled,
And my existence, state, wealth,

22. My clothes, food, and drink
Are in a palm of yours that does not cease.

23. So here I am, delighted, in your glory
I attain by your grace what cannot be attained.

24. And with you everyday I have attainment
Renewed by your long hands.

25. I count them but do not enumerate their praise
Can one enumerate him who counts the grains of sand?

26. So may every generous person of a people be ransomed for your generosity,
A ransomed one whose traits are not blamed.

27. For that is the greatest worth, that you be ransomed
For a people that have no perfection.
