1. I have been excessive in underestimating my share and duty
The nights have turned against me from every side

2. And its days fought me, so He supported me
Against their war, a heart full of experiences

3. So it did not eat my flesh nor drink my blood
Nor everything it falsely accused me of

4. Ask the moon, did I envy it when it was eclipsed?
And did what I lacked in the stars increase?

5. If I submit to my religion and He leaves me the Hajj
Then I have succeeded, enough of my afflictions

6. One who reproaches fate thinks that
According to the merit of man, the gifts are attained

7. And she does not know that fate is blind, led
To man by a lifelong lover of blemishes

8. To Allah, the one who was unjust to me was like
He remembers my oppression so he seeks revenge

9. He tries to expose my flaws so he can spread them
And without meeting them, a thousand veils and shields

10. The envious were hurt that I protected my honor
And kept myself away from the lowly gains

11. He criticizes me if my clothes get a bit wet, like
A drowning man with water up to his ears and lips

12. And he counts virtue as a sin against the one who has it
That he is illuminated by that which is shameful

13. And supports him a people, though they are the greatest enemies
For him, if he only knew, but nature mostly prevails

14. You see them, when he is absent, they expose his honor
And speak well of him if he is not there

15. Dishonor is only that you befriend him in person
Then backbite him in absentia like foxes

16. To Allah do I complain that I meet a companion whose face misleads me
While his claws crept up on me like scorpions

17. And I have an ambition that pleases God to attribute it
To other than the morals of the greedy beasts

18. A king who refused to accept glory itself
If ascending the summit of the stars was not smooth

19. Noble, slow in taking revenge
Quick to good deeds, not demanding

20. If the foundations shook, you would find him
Steady as a rocky cliff, not wavering

21. He frowns with discipline but his heart is pleased
And he smiles with patience, with an angry heart

22. So do not feel safe from his wrath when you see his pleasure
Nor despair of his nearness if he distances himself

23. And be with him sometimes fearful with etiquette
And sometimes hopeful of favors

24. It is not excellent to fear what you hope for
As if the lightning is feared in the pouring of rain

25. He is feared though he was not created for destruction
And he is feared though he does not count the sins of the repentant

26. He forgives the competitor in supremacy
And does not wrong except the hostile adversary

27. So his peace brings safety and seek refuge from his sword
With the desire of the hopeful and the desire of the seeker

28. I would sacrifice myself and all the people
My closest kin after strangers

29. He is the victorious son of the most noble king Ahmad
The lineage of Ismail, lion of battalions

30. Father of the king and son of the king, so trace his ancestors
To Adam in kingship, sons to the Father

31. God has gathered all the virtues
For the most blessed branch in virtuous roots

32. I have sworn, I have repeated in every presence
My faults, and I have pondered every blemish

33. My eyes have not seen, nor my ears heard of anyone
Who rivals you, among the departed kings

34. You were created as we wished, and supremacy chose you
So you captured every heart and mold

35. And you came to relieve the worries of the people
As if you are God's kindness in afflictions

36. By God, He will not forget for you what by it
You dealt with the people of passion in positions

37. You left the powers of the corrupters seeing that
He who opposes you has thorns in his throat and abnormalities

38. So neither the passionate found relief in defeating him
Nor did his enemy sleep at night in fear like a watcher

39. And people have abandoned passion when they saw
Its people fall before you into blame

40. My tongue is incapable of thanking your generosity
And the tongues of the people, those with pulpits

41. It seized me in its claws while calamities attacked me
So I escaped from its fangs and claws

42. And you walked me above the necks so the eyes that
Reached to take away my belongings cast down

43. So I returned by God's grace, a victorious return
With what improves the state of a repentant heart
