1. You spent nights multiplying rewards
With their days, you erased sins and burdens

2. And the voluntary fasts during them alleviated
Great sins that burdened the heaviest of backs

3. You left for God what you desire
To please Him through obeying His command

4. And you remained thirsty, preventing yourselves
From its springs, though the water was pure, so go on

5. So He replaced them with good deeds for you
And compensated you for every sin with reward

6. Until you wished your sins would double
And hoped for their scarcity to increase

7. I say this to show our Lord's grace
Upon creation, not to order sin or tempt

8. If this is His deed regarding your sins
When pleased with you, abundantly forgiving

9. Then what would you expect regarding doubling your good deeds
It's not as they said, one for ten

10. But for each, seven hundred - multiplied
Take this from the seven ears, if you accept

11. God's gifts cannot be sufficiently described
And abundant grace cannot be comprehended

12. My God, increase life's goodness as befits Your generosity
That quantity we cannot estimate

13. You are Generous, and You love the generous
And Yaḥyá ibn Ismā'īl most generous of them

14. So delight Yaḥyá with a little generosity
The least of what a man can store with God

15. And these are the nights of Al-Qadr, I know of no man
Who empties himself of supplicating You and remembering You

16. The people of merit and guidance gathered
Some prostrating, others reciting Quran

17. Their hands raised to You in supplication
And Your blessings are seen and rewards observed

18. Your days prosperous, fasting them by day
And by night, with long standing and remembering God

19. Your Lord is pleased with you, and the people satisfied
Their satisfaction comes from God's pleasure remaining

20. Happy and well, free of sickness
Yours is the earthly kingdom, and the kingdom in the Hereafter

21. My God, how many poor homes has he enriched
How much good renewed, how many breaks mended

22. Grant his generosity remission for every sin he committed
And multiply his good deeds even if he bears guilt

23. So place him in the fold of Your pardon if he erred
And slipped, except a drop that mixed into an ocean

24. My God, how many defiant sinners
Have You been pleased with and they clung to injustice, compelled

25. The caller to You did not fail them or turn away
From the repenting people and noble natures

26. When Yaḥyá is generous, the clouds of life withdraw shyly
And the waves harbor what would shame a drop

27. He gives generously what if told "Take it"
The selves of the covetous would seize it like embers

28. He has made thinking stingy a perplexity regarding his gift
So receive good news - or is it a dream's delusion, not news?

29. When he gives, he takes refuge in awe
Of receiving, revering, not coveting and forcing

30. He says "Take it," we say "We took it," and if he knew
That we didn't take, we'd be too timid to divulge it

31. I never heard refusal of his gifts
Or any excuse, he does not accept an excuse

32. You are but a symbol among our kings
Showing us their gifts extend like their seas' islands

33. And your Lord is pleased with what you originated
Through your generosity, so increase gratitude and thanks
