1. I speak to people who do not heed my advice,
Though I present every proof.

2. Oh, leave off plucking the roses of your cheeks,
For your tweezing is the ugliest deed.

3. Does one with a blooming cheek
Deliberately divide it into the evilest halves?

4. One who praises dimpled cheeks speaks truthfully of dark cheeks,
But for fair cheeks, ugliness is my point.

5. Does he not fear becoming one who plucks out hairs,
And counted among those of the most heinous words?

6. With gazing, not tweezers, a cheek is scratched,
Oh what misery for him! Oh how long my sorrow!

7. Indeed, I love every blooming cheek
That a tweezer has never touched with a scratch.
