When tyrants assume power and reign

17. A people, if they ride steeds to battle
They sprout as lords and the generous among the generous

Sorrow and worries kill women

22. My grandfather who ruled the country with his wisdom

Of all the kings, his doorkeepers

25. Ninety nine of them he built sincerely
That generous, benevolent prince

Guarded by might and greatness

28. And mosques founded by the hand of piety
In them, men who prostrate and stand in prayers

29. A king who, when guests approach his side
Calls villages to provide them with gifts

30. A king who, when the blades of his soldiers are unsheathed
Their handles Indian and Damascene

31. A king, if kings crowd around a watering place
They make way for him and their hearts quiver

32. A king, if the clouds stint in sending down their rain
Torrents flow from his hands unhindered

33. If the two guests lose their way to his doors
He guides them to the path of his generosity

34. And it has furnaces whose raging fires
Invite the Quran reciters to light

35. With these furnaces, ambergris they have burned
As they sprinkled from his palm poisoned arrows

36. Curse this world, all its makings
Are forever evils and joys, dreams

37. Our deeds are vipers between us
Seeking our doom while we sleep

38. The faces of people have been disgraced as the ignorant rose
And the lowly became great and stood up

And in their place are left the cattle

And His prophet is the foremost of the messengers

41. Inclining hearts to other than Him is misguidance
And anything besides the Guardian is an idol

42. May God bestow blessings and peace upon the Prophet and his family
And his companions, as long as they last
