1. Among the strange things to me
Is the revealing of what hearts conceal
١. وَمِن عَجيب الأُمور عِندي
إِظهار ما تُضمر القُلوب
2. Some souls spurn other souls
Though they have no fault with them
٢. تَأبى نُفوسٌ نُفوس قَوم
وَما لَها عِندَها ذُنوب
3. And souls befriend other souls
Yet all, if you could but see, have flaws
٣. وَتَصطَفي أَنفُسٌ نُفوساً
وَكُلَها لَو تَرى عُيوب
4. This is only due to hidden thoughts
Known to the Watchful, All-Knowing
٤. ما ذاكَ إِلّا لِمضمرات
يَعلَمها العالمُ الرَقيب
