When your slender branch was evoked

6. So God has concealed in my youth what I would
Be ashamed for old age to find sullied

7. Leave behind this aloofness and bring me
Some of the old intimacy and some of the new

8. And seek praise from one who takes glory
As music to his ears though it be worthless

9. The prince we see as springtime
For the hopes of mankind and a saving rain

10. Refined in merit and nobility
Of manners that dazzle the meadows utterly

11. Never did he enjoy a suckling's contentment
Until he accepted wise teaching as a babe

12. O glorious one who has flooded the people
With favor, be now their saving help

13. Survive the eagles of glory protected
In your undefiled loftiness from vileness

14. Guarding in your care a maiden who shamed
Jirar with her beauty and all of mankind
