1. When times are hard
Troubles throng and sorrows swarm

2. You'll find around our homes
The valiant and the generous swarm

3. The enemies come all in white
While friends in red array

4. This is our way
Blood flows and blood will pay

5. Say to Ibn Warqa, Ja'far's son
What you know must be done

6. Though fate's tempest may run high
And my house no more stands calm

7. I aim for that high moral ground
And hold to standards true

8. I blame she who would confound
Enmity, though pain wells anew

9. Perhaps time will bring us around
And unity flowers fresh on the scene

10. Will you one day make right, my cousin
Your uncle's injustice obscene?

11. Give him my message, spare not one word
For you are above all blame

12. I accept though my heart is stirred
Father of Muhammad, and rightly reign
