١. ليت الشبابَ الذي ولت نضارتُهُ
أعطانِي الحِلمَ فيما كان أعطاني
2. For then old age was no unworthy load to bear,
Nor half so bitter the remembrance of delight.
٢. فلم تكن مِنةٌ للشيبِ أحملُها
ولم يكن من سروري بعضُ أحزاني
