And teeth like strung pearls of eyes

I saw you - O branch of the Arak - withered

14. And my eyes were stingy with tears,
Shedding them copiously over you for long

15. The days changed you from their rhythms
If only your day in you had been delayed

16. I vowed I won’t cease unless lamenting
With your elegy, declaring God's greatness

17. Your loss pained my heart and intimacy
Leaving in my heart agony and turmoil

18. With features like the north, as if
From it you drank though drank no poison

19. By the dignity of shy you were from it
Men of glory and courage recoiled

20. By the unique word you wrought
Phrases distinguishing its details

21. By the retaliation you returned with
Your pens at night breathe lethal fumes

22. It didn’t harm those whose loved ones perished
Unless shared agony and departure

23. It was enough, a hand of knowledge and aid
Strong of arm, shoulder, and pillar
