1. Increasing the beauty of sound in people is an ornament
With which the rhythm of poetry is pleasing

2. And whoever is not moved by listening with kindness
Then that is blind of heart, blind of perception

3. It appeals to the guide of beauty, ardently desiring
So it is placed in its wilderness other than regret

4. And for God in souls when satisfied
With the tune is a secret to people other than apparent

5. And everyone who disapproves of listening, he indeed
Is of ignorance in his recklessness, not seeing

6. And the people of Hajj are the people of Hijaz, all of them
Saw it permissible with them, other than unacceptable

7. And the people of Sufism are enamored with it
To kindle the passion of its fire that did not ignite

8. For the Messenger of God has said "Adorn
The verses of the Pure Book with your voices"

9. And for David the prophet, his psalms
Were his melodies in every gathering

10. And in eternity Israfil, its people hear him
So the heard entertains them from any spectacle

11. So if I am tempted by listening and its beauty
Then enough for me is emulating the generous son of Ja'far
