1. O you who the religion embraced in his time
A chest where knowledge springs from his heart
١. يا من حواه الدين في عصره
صدراً يحلّ العِلم منه فؤاد
2. What does our master Al-Murtada see
In a visitor who seeks his affection
٢. ماذا يَرى سَيدنا المُرتضى
في زائر يخطب منه الوداد
3. He only wants from him some letters
He considers them the most precious treasure to attain
٣. لا يبتغي منه سوى أحرُف
يعتدها أَشرف ذخرٍ يفاد
4. Which his fingers shape like
The buds of the garden by the hand of the gardener
٤. ترسمها أنمله مثل ما
نمّق زهر الروض كفُّ العهاد
5. In a parchment that the hand of glory
Gifted more radiant than the ink of the night
٥. في رُقعةٍ كالصبح أَهدى لها
يَد المعَالي مِسك ليل المداد
6. A license he grants me
A prize that remains while countries perish
٦. إجازةً يورثنيها العلا
جَائزة تَبقى وتفنى البلاد
7. Gratitude takes along as its servant for it
And gratitude is the finest equipage for glories
٧. يستصحب الشكر خِديما لها
والشكر للامجادِ أَسنى عِتَاد
