1. The engagements wept, while your glorious smile laughed,
And the swords told of your sharp blade that spent the night awake.

2. O son of the forebears, the Mamluks seized the reigns by force,
And for them the path to the Most High is accessible.

3. With honor on this blessed day, for it is
A day of Ali, though its blessings are concealed.

4. And I have failed to express joy in a state,
Where we are slaves, and you are the owner.

5. An Arabic description, endowed with generosity,
Who mended the broken, and gave life to the doomed.

6. A Persian who combines the best adorned,
Brought praises and kingdoms sent to him.

7. A king, when the stars of his face shine bright,
Makes the frowning laugh, and illuminates the dark.

8. As if above the throne he sits,
A lion upon the body of his prey relaxes.

9. So the moon envies him while he eclipses it,
And the brave slayer fears his fatality.

10. And he is generous with his soul,
So we return while the slave among us is owner.

11. So surrender, for you are unparalleled in valor and munificence,
And none can rival your beauty.

12. The passing of youth has quenched you,
As your aspirations have hastened towards your attainment.

13. Your generosity is unrestrained, and your praise ubiquitous,
While your bounty is protected, and your scent blows freely.
