1. I stood with the lovers at every stand
Connecting the thread of tears after its harmony

To an unrequiting love that fled his dream

3. He poured into my eyes the wine of his wounds
Intoxicating me beyond the drunkenness of wine

4. His phantom of union justifies me
And his dove's moan enchants me in agony

5. How strange that distance comes between us
While the eye of longing is unlawful from me

6. And I felt a house in my heart for passion
I said to it, be among them in its haze

7. I did not know that the tip of his intoxication
Would please me beyond the veil of his mouth

8. He lent the sun the light of his forehead
So how could the lines have a shapely figure?

9. And if you denied that his stature
Bore a sword from his eyes like a scabbard

10. Then do not deny it, for the adornment of his neck
Was crafted from his mouth and his words

11. As if eyes sharing love divided him
For upon them was a touch of his sickness

Were in constant danger of his generosity and revenge

13. And if one who strays to the shade of his glory
Feared misguidance, the dew would call him from before him
