1. O neighbor of the Nile, may God welcome you
We do not consider you strangers in Egypt

2. You have descended among a group of your kinsmen
And have visited homelands instead of homelands

3. When you descended upon cultured Egypt
Its foundations and walls almost bid you welcome

4. We honor in your persons a homeland
If Egypt were depicted as an eye, it would be a human being

5. The Nile, God has unified its valley
Why then should we divide it: Egypt and Sudan?
