1. He plans the land with skill and care
As if his plough is a brush in the hand of an artist

2. He maps the land but does not color it
For when its crops grow, it dons costumes

3. Those lines he etches
On the page of the earth with his raging plough

4. I saw geometry in the field after ploughing
Not based on claim or proof

5. The farmer needs no school if he does not cheat
For the farms have knowledge and wisdom

6. How beautiful is the earth and the plough that arranges it
Into a poem with meter and rhyme!

7. He walks with a hand behind him guiding him
Like the people of a ship in the hand of a captain

8. The more the earth shakes, the greater its yield
How strange is this destroyer and builder!

9. With his weapon, if he splits it open, treasures unfold
Of rubies and coral in its depths

10. Without him, its essence would not yield goodness
Nor would its surface bear fruit
