1. The justice of heaven is manifest on earth
An angel flutters with wings of light

2. A cherub touches with the palm of tenderness
The brow of the wretched; and so erases misfortune

3. And lowers a wing for the weak
And whirls like the wind against the powerful

4. Behold, people are from Adam
And Adam is equal to all his children

5. Is one human molded from choicest elements and goodness
And another human molded from dust and water?

6. Blessed are You my Lord! Did you apportion
Your servants between wolves and sheep?

7. Or did you create some of your creation
As slaves, and others as rulers?

8. Yet your religion is one of equality and it
Is by my life free of classes

9. You instituted laws for its sake
And sent prophets for its sake

10. Does one belly brim with provision, while another
Is pained by a morsel of food?

11. And do some quaff aged wine
While others thirst for a cup of water?

12. And does one side recline on brocade
While the other, when asleep, finds only bare ground?

13. If poverty is the lot of the poor
Then what of their innocent children?

14. And what is the sin of a babe whose path in life
Is drawn by the pen of misery before meeting him?

15. And what is the merit of a babe who, upon emerging
From the womb, falls into the hands of maidservants?

16. And what has this one built of peace’s castles
And has that one grown accustomed to shedding blood?

17. And if the justice of heaven prevailed on earth
People would live happily upon it

18. Verily, poverty has brought love of wealth
And hastened death with love of survival

19. Neither has the udder of clouds begrudged the rain
Nor the belly of the earth begrudged growth

20. Neither has the earth complained of its burden
Nor has the expanse of space felt cramped by people

21. But greed has spread, and so it was
That luxury fell prey to this greed

22. Blessed are You, Maker of creation!
To You the earth entrusts her inheritance to whomever You wish

23. The tyrants have taken control of Your earth
And waged wars against the weak

24. So when You decreed the restoration of rights
To their people, they wept loudly

25. Though unhappy with Your judgement
They declared it publicly, and if able would show enmity to You

26. Lo, o tyrants, it seems to me
You challenge the decree of destiny

27. And God has in justice a hidden secret
Let me unveil some of that secrecy

28. The contentment of those who struggle is wealth to you
When absent from you, while you remain in wealth

29. And you will not be safe from their hungry evil
If discontent takes the place of contentment

30. And how much wealth has destroyed its hoarders
When wealth is not coupled with generosity

31. Leave the earth to be owned by its tillers
For it was not created except for them

32. They extracted sustenance from its depths
And lived happily upon its surface

33. They are pieces of its fruit that crawl upon it
And they are its most faithful companions

34. Their homes are the length of their lives
And their hoes are after their demise

35. Their shore when summer arrives
And their hearth when winter arrives

36. Their book at dawn
And their bed at dusk

37. If they fall asleep it is a fine pillow
And fine bedding, and fine cover

38. And from its soil they bake food
And from its grass weave clothes

39. They live with no hope but it
And none but its Maker to hope for

40. And if it exhausted a farmer and his land
Then revived him with good air

41. He sought no cure but it
So it was the illness and the remedy

42. For its cattle his love is pure
O Lord, is there love without purity?

43. And the beasts incline toward him
As friends incline toward true friends

44. And he is content with sufficient living
And rewards it with fine praise

45. And calls upon the heavens for his liberators
So its doors open to his prayers

46. O tiller of the earth, you will never be given
What even mountains cannot bear

47. You endured the tribulations of fate for so long
And so you were rewarded with beautiful recompense!

48. You called for beauty, so beauty answered the call
And what beauty does not answer the call?

49. When the weak are threatened it rushes to help the weak
Driven by steely resolve that explains the arrow's piercing

50. When it walks forward its steps will not
Turn back to look behind
