1. Say to Kuwait when you descend upon its land:
Blessed is your holy valley, blessed

2. By God, your pearls, O Kuwait, a city
Where wine is not a drink upon its ground!

3. I have not met in any place but Kuwait a "Khwaja"
Who spurns wines, but drinks only sherbet

4. Say to the Khwaja: "That is our Prophet's faith.
Do you find fault with the Prophet's faith?"

5. If he grows angry, the Gulf and its waters
Are spacious, so arise; drink it, cup by cup!
