And flowed without direction

7. By God, may He not bless those souls, how evil they were

8. And none quenched their thirst but the fire poured upon

The work of the wicked enemy of God, who split it

10. It threw my people into wells and busied itself

18. And their strangler took revenge on them for their Creator
And in retaliation is a life they have not deprived us of

19. A people most despicable, if the king's heart softened for us
The heart of our great state and its blessing

20. Its sentinel, its shield, its iron coat of mail
Its wheat stalk, its highest branch and its meadow

21. A king almost envied by the kings of the earth
If they have not already envied him in their dreams

22. Loyal to championing the religion of God, drawing
A sword that sculpts mouths in bowels

23. With it a horse that thirst touches not
Unless the horsemen's veins have quenched it

24. Agile, which the long-necked ostrich cannot catch

32. And banish from the verdant garden its ruler
For the scorched one has prepared his grove

33. You are God's honest sword for His greatest nation
That you have adorned with the blossoms of justice

34. It is you whom the Merciful will ask
About the limits that if you violate, He will forgive

35. If you do not lead every tyrant against the Christians
To Hussein, the finest youth of the world and most devout

36. Leave no pure-born son for the Yazidite
To walk like his damned father, wandering

37. And act like Noah, for no viper births
Anything but vipers with evil intentions

38. Do not think people are pleased by your lenience
With the abundant instead of the thousands we counted

39. A soul for a soul, so kill just as they killed
Our own, perhaps people will forget their killing

40. And ignore clemency except in its proper place
For how often has clemency raised flags and cast them away?

41. Did not the Umayyads' clemency destroy them?
It left them no glory in these countries

42. And Cyrus' justice protected his kingdoms and razed
Caesar's flags when it came upon them

43. Kings now see your state as chaos
And its enemies as loyalists

44. So beware that affairs slip from your hands
And evil with the wicked overtakes it

45. God knows I am an adviser enraptured
With a state all of us are the saplings of its bounty

46. We love it with the love of a newborn for its mother
And hope God will make its protector eternal
