1. A joyous day boasts over days
With a speaking planet whose utterances are pearls

2. Tawfiq named it Bareena and granted it success
So it agreed with the Bedouins in praising the civilized

3. Thus honoring a king no human blamed
And there was none in the world equal to it among humans

4. Its bounty is hoped for and the enemy fears its might
Like the sea in which there is good and danger

5. Egypt is nothing but the bliss of its rising
Its brilliance and the dew of its rest

6. And the stranger is not in darkness under its flag
And from its hands the ten seas flow

7. May God protect it from the eye of envier
For it is to the lands hearing and sight
