مولاي إن الفتى الشامي في مرض

1. My Master, the young Syrian man is ill
If he dwelled near the sun, he would leave it without light

١. مولاي إن الفتى الشامي في مرضٍ
لو جاور الشمس ما أبقى لها نورا

2. The doctor and philosopher are confused by him
So whoever smelled him found him enchanted

٢. حار الطبيب وحار الفيلسوف به
فكل من شامه ألفاه مسحورا

3. What was between us you know full well
May your knowledge continue to enlighten people

٣. وكان ما بيننا ما لست تجهله
دامت علومك تحبو الناس تنويرا

4. Today when he sought my forgiveness
I forgave him, so Allah does not trouble him

٤. فاليوم لما ابتغى مني مسامحةً
سامحته لا أراه اللَه تكديرا

5. A letter came to me, he left me
Fearing for him, with tears flowing

٥. وقد أتاني كتاب منه غادرني
خوفاً عليه بسيل الدمع ممطورا

6. Asking through me for aid from a king
Who ruled kings, as guidance ruled falsehood

٦. يرجو بواسطتي الإسعاف من ملك
ساد الملوك كما ساد الهدى الزورا

7. His prayer and the dew flowing towards them
Erase barrenness and revive the neglected ruin

٧. دعاؤه والندى سيلان صوبهما
يمحو البوار ويحيى المربع البورا

8. If after the Guide, he sees his healing
That is the tradition of Taha, he returns rewarded

٨. فإن رأى خلف الهادي عيادته
وتلك سنة طه عاد مأجورا

9. And my master is the best chooser of his tongue
May Allah keep him praised and thanked

٩. وسيدي خير مختارٍ لسنته
أدامه اللَه محموداً ومشكورا
