1. For God, a master in Damascus departs
And a generous master comes to her

2. Her tears did not flow for the separation of Majid
Except they were dried by a more glorious protector

3. God granted her the best and most just ruler
With whom superiority and envy once prevailed

4. From masters unlike any other generous nobles
Whose deeds are praiseworthy in every land

5. All the greatest governorships are dwellings
For you, O unique, magnificent moon

6. But Damascus among the countries is uniquely
A beautiful one, envied for your sake even by Virgo

7. You are the son of the sublime, and if worries were to sublimate you
The sublime one would be embarrassed by your unmatched sublimity

8. And the dawn is the dawn of glory and honor where
All beauty exists wherever it is found

9. So welcome to us and to all prominent glory
That God the Great Unifier has unified
