1. The dawn called to you with its presence,
Is its call not the call of sorrow?

2. The Eid has arrived after fasting,
Saying: Partake of the fruits of victory.

3. The ringdove of bangles chirped to us,
Greetings upon the towers of palaces.

4. Old age preached to the repentant,
On the honorable Minbar of the brilliant pulpit.

5. It led us as we set out joyfully,
Marching to the Great Mosque of Play.

6. With steps of a lively she-camel of Nejd,
Shaking the pillars of Thabeer.

7. When its cushions touched the preserve,
We offered it the pure water.

8. So we arrived while stars of the night
Pierced through the bright dawn.

9. To a lofty pulpit of crystal,
Wandering upon carpets and pillows.

10. Around it smiled cups of rest,
On the palms of houris like moons.

11. We did not leave until dawn disappeared from us
In the nest of the horizon.

12. We pray between flowers of arches
And bow between pomegranates of breasts.

13. And we conclude with prayers upon the Prince,
Who sufficed us from the injustice of time.

14. With ease, in cups he chose of silk,
When a little water shone in a palm,

15. Its surface rippling with joy,
The destitute say when seeing it:

16. Like the horns of ibexes above camels.
With poetry did I unlock Egypt’s treasures?

17. And came with Qarun's abundant wealth?
If the Prince visited some of my poetry,

18. The barefoot would become my peers.
Congratulations to you from the pious,

19. For what you have given of ample grace.
May your Lord bless the holidays in what

20. You see of yourself a great celebration.
And may He grant success to those who hope in you,

21. Until the two record keepers come for every good.
For people have none but you as their supporter,

22. Nor anyone like you as their Prince.
