1. The existence of virtues, O faces of virtues
Is due to Ali, eminent above all

2. Do bodies not know the meaning of their souls?
Do eyelids not recognize the merit of swords?

3. With what is he congratulated, he being the germ of the Most High?
And with what is he counseled, he being the treasure of the greatest?

4. And who is like him from the family of Al Fatima
And his father sent from the family of Hashim?

5. Sama the son of Ubayd Allah is known for valor and generosity
And for scheming against enemies and decisive weapons

6. And he ruled with love of justice, merit, and piety
And with hatred of sins and avoidance of taboos

7. So there is no Ali the horseman or son of a horseman
Nor an Ali the resolute or son of the resolute

8. If this world had princesses, there would be
No prince for it but him on the day of judgment

9. His Lord made him sharp as the sword and flood
To give life to the oppressed and kill the oppressor

10. Whenever catastrophes cast their dark clouds
Over people, he dispelled them with the whites of swords

11. And he crowned the brows of the generous with dew
And tore open the flanks of enemies with sharp blades

12. I saw Ali as if he had never tasted death
Could he have been other than a ruler and son of a ruler?

13. With a radiant smile and expansive chest, aloof
From arrogance, concerned with righting wrongs

14. Gentle by nature, knowing no hypocrisy
And fearing no blame for God

15. Can the evil of arrogance afflict any but a man
Recently exalted or given to loving coins?

16. Raise banners of praise for their noble house
On every towering sublime mountain

17. For there is no house as noble as their house
Whose great ones are reserved for the greatest

18. Noble ones who, when fate was miserly, a downpour
Of generosity flowed from their sleeves and palms

19. Loving them is incumbent on every worker
And hating them is rejected by every scholar

20. For you are the shelter of Syria, rather its savior
Whenever its winds of battle blow

21. You are the son of the house of generosity, more so than Hatim
And you inherit glory after Adam

22. You are great in rank before any rank
With which the best and greatest kings were honored

23. And you are only the best protector and helper
You are only the best past and future

24. Is there in Syria any but the one your father commanded
And your grandfather appointed, despite the schemers?

25. Reform and take pride and accept the gift of a poet
Whose association you control and who seeks the favor of a ruler

26. Date, O living one, make prosperous for us
The most sublime and noble prince
