1. After you, the daylight has no clarity,
A leg circulates or a morning becomes good.

2. Except for remembering you, there is no night companion
Whose longings and sorrows renew with it.

3. O moon of Syria, whom no wall protected
Except your wall, and no praised father.

4. If you disappear from our sights, then our hearts
And all our wings are castles for you.

5. We did not know the reason for your separation after
The spirit returned to Syria because of your justice.

6. Did Aleppo, which you captured, and Salut dislike you,
Or the protection of passersby from the powerful sin to governors outright?

7. Your friend opened to us with your isolation his wisdom,
By Allah, this opening is no conquest.

8. Alas, no country in its time will be safe
From a disease that bleeds and festers with it.

9. If the hearts of all worshipers do not bend
To the separation of the righteous, then hearts will mourn.
