1. Had she not given me sips from her soft drink

Fortresses and flags for justice and merit

And chose to rule all people

23. No step to evil did the love of splendor take
Except that the leg and zeal singled it out

24. Yesterday we were victims of our neighbor but today
Miserable the victim since greeting Damascus

25. This for that and we returned to affection
And if they return, my sword remains sharp

26. O quintessence of perfect nobility
Whose enemies my sword divided into groups

27. The realm is a circle dividing which is hard
As long as you remain in it, discerning of raving

28. You acted with your wisdom answering corruption
And rescued the country while keeping probity perfect

29. Had another called for it, My Glorious Master
It would have become to Napoleon a seal

30. So you remained sound of opinion, with ambition
That abandons imprudence in times of panic

31. And you remained righteous, seeing the world
As an obligation, praising it and with inspiration
