1. That fire was lit
Or a lightning bolt flashed

And she withdrew and distanced

17. Herself in a state of alarm
Like a canal that curved away

18. Or a shooting star that flew off
Then she softly said

19. My husband has many eyes
I said my soul is yours

20. Crown his head with horns
Nothing undressed us but the echo

21. Of his moon-like branches
So listen how I recited

22. When she greeted me by night
Every cheek I caressed

23. I cut its fortunes to pieces
Then her pure cheek began

24. To hide the roses with cold
Then she said, rise, climb

25. The hill of the gazelle, my lion
What I feared

26. Is the evil of his aggression
And she softened and cooled

27. The fire of my heart with what it drank
From the unique lips

28. That radiated such beauty
If only the night that passed

29. Lasted an unending night
For when it passed, it ended

30. My time with the moon
And my moving away from contentment

31. And toward boredom
So it ended as it began
